Scott is the President and founder of Stornoway Portfolio Management and has over 15 years of experience in the area of distressed securities. Prior to founding Stornoway, Scott co-founded National Bank Financial's High Yield Group where he focused on researching, trading, and investing in high yield and distressed securities and was a key member of the firm's restructuring practice. Scott's experience has provided him a deep understanding of the legal and financial issues involved in investing in distressed securities and the expertise to play a leadership role in a corporate turnaround in order to protect and increase the value of the Fund's investment. Scott currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Fund's largest investment.
As of March 6th, 2019, Scott - directly and indirectly - owned 157,627 units of the Ravensource Fund, representing 9.4% of the total units outstanding.
Daniel Metrikin is a Principal and Executive Vice President, Investments at Stornoway. Daniel focuses on all aspects of the investment process, including due diligence, analysis of potential investment opportunities, and value enhancement of existing positions. He joined the Stornoway Team in January 2017, and has over a decade of experience working in credit market investing, primarily focused on distressed opportunities. Daniel's experiences have provided him a diverse knowledge base to execute across the lifetime of a distressed investment - from evaluation, to financial restructuring and operational enhancement, to realization. Prior to joining Stornoway, he was a Vice President at H.I.G. Bayside Capital in New York where he focused on the evaluation and execution of stressed and distressed credit opportunities. He previously worked at Oaktree Capital Management in Los Angeles, specializing in special situation and distress-for-control investing. He has also held positions at Gluskin Sheff & Associates and Houlihan Lokey.
Daniel graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Economics degree and concentrations in Finance and Accounting. He also holds an MBA from Stanford University.
Alex Gelmych joined the Stornoway Team in March 2023 an Investment Analyst. Alex is an active participant in all phases of the investment process including the examination and assessment of investment ideas and portfolio monitoring. He also assists with day-to-day fund operations. Prior to Stornoway, Alex was an Equity Research Associate at Echelon Capital Markets, where he performed fundamental investment analysis on US and Canadian special situations. He previously worked in the Client Consulting division at FactSet Research Systems.
Alex graduated from the Ivey Business School at Western University with an Honors Business Administration degree.
